Education – 2022 Year End Review

We have so much to celebrate as we wrap up this year!  Over the next week, I will be sharing with you some of our big wins of 2022, and will ask you to help us continue our work by donating to Bike Easy by December 31st!  There are many ways that you can continue to make our mission of making bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans, so please make sure to read till the end.

Here are some Education Highlights of 2022:

Youth Education

Our Education programming focused on expanding our youth participation with two new after school ride clubs!  It also focused on forging new community partnerships.

Our youth impact more than doubled from 2021! We reached over 565 youth!

Our After School ride clubs helped kids gain confidence riding their bikes, and go on longer rides in their neighborhood, and beyond!  We truly believe that if we teach them young, they will grow to be great advocates for bike safety in the future!

Adult Education

We conducted community workshops, trainings, outreach, interventions and rides to help people learn to ride safely and confidently, as well as workshops to teach drive safely around people biking and walking.

We reached over 1,000 people!

Apart from teaching about bike safety, we also gave them the tools and skills to folks to be able to teach bike safety in their own communities, and support our mission that way.
