Bike Easy (officially named Metro Bicycle Coalition of New Orleans, dba Bike Easy) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is committed to sound stewardship of resources and transparency of financial management.

Like all 501c3 non-profit organizations, Bike Easy files an annual tax return with the federal Internal Revenue Service.

Beginning in 2017, Bike Easy has regularly received sufficient public funds to require submission of an independently prepared Financial Compilation to the Louisiana State Legislative Auditor.

Bike Easy is not legally required to conduct or file financial audits. However, on occasion, the Board of Directors independently calls for an external audit.

The Metro Bicycle Coalition of New Orleans was formed in 2006, became a 501c3 non-profit in 2008, and rebranded to Bike Easy in 2010.
