Policy & Design Committee
The Bike Easy Policy & Design Committee exists to help determine the organization’s position on external policies

In April 2026, Bike Easy relaunched its Policy and Design Committee, welcoming 18 new members selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 40 applicants. This diverse group brings together a wide range of expertise and lived experience—from transportation planning and public health to community advocacy and design—reflecting the many perspectives needed to shape safer streets in New Orleans.
The Policy and Design Committee serves as an advisory body to strengthen and support Bike Easy’s ongoing work. Its primary goals are to provide informed guidance on infrastructure and policy priorities, elevate community-informed solutions, and help advance a more connected, equitable, and safe transportation network for all road users.
By bringing together both technical experts and community voices, the committee plays a critical role in addressing the systemic challenges that contribute to unsafe conditions across our city. From reviewing proposed projects to identifying gaps in infrastructure and policy, this group helps ensure that Bike Easy’s advocacy is grounded in both data and lived experience—ultimately pushing for meaningful, lasting change.
