Students now confidently cycle New Orleans streets, commute to school, and embrace the camaraderie of riding as a group. Riders experienced infrastructure of different neighborhoods, explored new terrain, and tackled street obstacles across the city.
Our young people rode bikes from Bayou St. John to places like Upper Carrollton, Metairie, and St. Anthony.

These ninth graders spent January to May of 2022 adventuring across the city on Tuesdays, averaging 8-10 mile rides. The program was a collaboration between Youth Programs Coordinator, Isabella Bustamante and Outdoor Adventures teacher, Kitty O’Connor.
