We’re at a turning point for the biking community in New Orleans. As part of Moving New Orleans Bikes, the City is currently building 75-miles of connected, low-stress bikeway networks across New Orleans and after years of advocating for residents’ ability to safely bike to work, to school, to socialize, or any of life’s everyday needs, we’re on the verge of having connected, protected bikeways installed through the heart of downtown New Orleans! These protected bikeways will create more safety and less stress for everyone on the road — people walking, biking, driving and riding transit — especially downtown!

Right now, we need you to show your support for safe biking and improved mobility options in downtown New Orleans, because we know there will be a few voices who will push back against increased mobility options and the benefits they provide for the entire Greater New Orleans community.

Sign the petition supporting Protected Bikeways in the CBD today!

These safe and accessible protected-bikeways will be transformational in connecting people of all ages and abilities to our region’s largest job center, New Orleans’ Central Business District. The CBD is set to receive a whole suite of Complete Streets improvements included protected bikeways, high-visibility crosswalks, transit stop improvements, and other traffic-calming elements on Baronne Street, O’Keefe Avenue, Julia Street, and Howard Avenue.

Increased and improved mobility options will benefit our front-line healthcare providers, our government workers, our police and firefighters, library workers, artists, students and everyone else who travels in downtown New Orleans every single day. More safe and accessible ways to travel downtown will help our hospitality industry – our restaurants, music venues, hotels, and more – be better positioned to rebound once the pandemic subsides.

Sign our petition with the New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition today to stand up for better mobility for all New Orleans residents!
