Sign up as a Complete Streets Ambassador for Fall 2019

With news swirling around us every day, it’s worth pausing a moment and settling your mind on this fact: New Orleans is now committed to a future of safe biking and improved mobility options for every resident in Orleans Parish. Mayor Cantrell’s new Office of Transportation is busy moving forward to make that vision a reality beginning this year! Low-stress biking and walking improvements, featuring greater protection and connections to popular destinations, will begin installation later this year and throughout 2020.

As great as this news is, these new biking and walking improvements will only be a success if our friends and neighbors understand the benefits they bring. Help us make that happen by signing up as a Complete Streets Ambassador! Work with Bike Easy and the New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition to spread the word, educate the public, and enlist supporters in making biking, walking, and more equitable transportation accessible across our communities.

Ambassadors contribute 2-3 hours a week for 3 months to build grassroots support for better biking/walking infrastructure and Complete Streets. The program begins with a training in advocacy skills, messaging, and a briefing on the New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition’s ‘Let’s Move Forward!’ campaign.

Upcoming ambassador trainings:

  • Thursday, September 5th – 5pm – 8pm
  • Saturday, September 7th – 10am – 1pm
