Of course you are! We know we’ve been asking for a lot of help lately, so we wanted to take a moment to give you some great ways to enjoy biking in New Orleans over the coming days.
Bike Routes to Get Around New Orleans
Are you trying to ride from Algiers to the Bywater? Uptown to Midcity? The East to the French Quarter? We’ve got routes for you.
Especially with so much new bike safety infrastructure, it can be hard to keep track of the easiest, safest and most fun routes to take around New Orleans. That’s why our Education Coordinator, Laura Harris, wrote this blog post with suggested routes for getting around town.

New Orleans’ Newest Protected Bikeways
Elysian Fields Ave, North Galvez St (pictured on the right), MacArthur Blvd. What do these streets have in common? Protected bikeways. These streets are part of the City’s Moving New Orleans Bikes initiative to build 75 miles of protected and connected bikeways throughout the city. So far, they’ve built about 20, and WOW are they nice.
Whether you’re biking to Crescent City Park down Elysian Fields, through the 7th Ward on Galvez, or to the extended Mississippi River Levee Path in Algiers via MacArthur Blvd, you’ll enjoy the comfort and ease of riding on these new protected bikeways.
