The 2023 Bike Easy April Challenge powered by Entergy is in full swing and we’re just trying to catch our breath as we log rides and plan more events for you to stay involved!  Happy to report I’ve been able to keep up with my goal to ride every single day in April!  If you haven’t registered for the Challenge yet, it is not too late!  Click here to register today.   You can also backlog all your rides during April.

Bike to Work Day – Wednesday, April 12th

This year, our Bike to Work Day will look  a little different.  We are encouraging you to ride to work on Wednesday, April 12th, and share your commute story on social media by tagging @bikeeasy – Join us at  our Bicycle Valet at Wednesday at the Square that evening for a complimentary drink, and some special swag for your bike.


Bike to Work Week – Happy Hour – Friday, April 14 – 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Join us as we wrap up Bike to Work week at 504 Craft Beer Reserve (3939 Tulane Ave), on Friday, April 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  There will be a special rum punch cocktail, and a $5.00 pint special.  Rhino’s Grille will also be there serving bar fare if you want to get a bite.  It’s a great opportunity for you to bring your bingo card and show us how many of the activities you have completed!.  Click here for more details and to RSVP 


Youth Learn to Ride Workshop – Saturday, April 15 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

This 2-hour session is a free group class for children age 5 and up who are ready to  ride a two-wheeler for the first time. With our safe and efficient method taught by experienced instructors, kids will learn how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bicycle. Most students get the hang of it in one session, but even if they don’t, families will be able to observe a simple, low-stress technique that they can continue to practice at homeClick here for more details and to RSVP


Bike to City Hall – Tuesday, April 18 – 10:00 am to 11:00 am

This year, we are encouraging folks to bike to City Hall for our annual press conference, and to advocate for better biking. Join us!


Tour de Bean – Saturday, April 22 – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

We’re really excited to bring back Tour de Bean to Fortier Park on Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  This celebration will include live music from Bon Bon Vivant and Panorama.  There will also be a food truck, and kids rodeo.  There will be 2 ride trains riding to our event: one from Beanlandia in the Bywater, and another location TBD. Both bike trains will be leaving at 9:30 to arrive at the park for 10 am.  Click here for more details and to RSVP.


Bike Easy April Challenge Bingo Card

We will have this bingo cards at all of our in-person events, or you can print it and fill it out to share with us for cool Bike Easy Swag.  I know I completed 9 already!

  • 4.22.23 – Tour de Bean – Fortier Park – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm – There will be 2 bands (Bon Bon Vivant and Panorama) – We will close one street on Esplanade for bands and also to make a small temporary ciclovia for kids, and will invite local food vendors too!  Oh!
