That’s why we and our friends at the New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition are debuting neighborhood resource pages to keep you up to date on the ‘Moving New Orleans Bikes’ improvements coming to your neighborhood. To start off are neighborhood resource pages for the 7th Ward, Treme, Mid-City & Gentilly and Algiers. Soon to come are similar pages for downtown and Uptown.
With up to 75 miles of protected and connected bikeways being built this year, we all want to know what new bike safety infrastructure is coming to our streets, and when!
These resource pages break down all of the ‘Moving New Orleans Bikes’ infrastructure improvements street by street. You’ll not only know all of these improvements coming to your street, you’ll be well equipped to inform your friends and neighbors, to get them excited for protected bikeways, bike/walk boulevards, improved walking access and more.
Plus, you can read stories from local residents and business owners on why they support better walking and biking infrastructure in the neighborhood, look at and share before and after photos, and take action to support Complete Streets in your neighborhood.
Check out the ‘Moving New Orleans Bikes’ resource page for Algiers.
To have this network of connected, protected, low-stress bikeways come to fruition, we need supporters like you informed about what, when, and where improvements are happening. Let us know what you think!
