We had such an amazing turnout for this year’s Membership Month campaign, #JoinUp!

Thank you to everyone who signed up or renewed their Bike Easy Membership during the month of May! Your generous contributions helped us raise $25,117, once again pedaling past our goal! Our Bike Easy Members are truly committed to helping us transform our streets and neighborhoods so that they’re safe, fun, and easy for everyone in Greater New Orleans.

As the Bike Easy Membership community continues to grow, we’d like to invite both new and existing members to take advantage of our Member Discount Program. We’ve recently expanded this program to include more local, women-owned businesses. Here are some we’d like to feature:

The Vintage Green Review is the very first and only zero-waste shop in New Orleans, located at 3530 Magazine Street! This local woman-owned business offers Bike Easy Members a 10% discount on bulk refills (excludes Madonna Lily). Stop by the Vintage Green Review today and shop for all your zero waste, low waste, plastic-free needs!

Happy Raptor Distilling is a Bike Easy Certified business! Co-founded by Mark and Meagen, they started Happy Raptor Distilling after discovering the tradition of rhum arrangé, the practice of infusing rum with local citrus, fruits, botanicals, and spices. Stop by their historic spot at 1512 Carondelet Street in Central City for a 10% discount for active Bike Easy Members.

Piece of Meat–located in Mid-City– is owned and ran by Leighann Smith and Dr. Daniel Jackson. They started this business in 2016 with the hope of owning a butcher shop and restaurant. They work with farmers that use responsible and humane methods. Bike Easy Members get a 10% discount!

Hotel Peter & Paul is a historic church, schoolhouse, rectory, and convent, reborn as a hotel. If you’re looking for a home away from home, book your next stay at the Hotel Peter and Paul. They’re offering Bike Easy Members 10% off your stay.

Valerie started The Ohm Well in March of 2015, as a tribute to her mother. When she opened her yoga studio (which is the first in Gentilly), her goal was to change the narrative around Black Women’s health and share yoga with more people that look like her. Today, Valeria is doing just that! As a champion for the bicycling community, we’re so excited to welcome Valeria and The Ohm Well team to the Bike Easy Certified Program. Sign up for a class and show your membership card for a 10% discount today!

We also launched a bike map (via the app Ride Spot) that you can ride to these businesses. Find the ride here!

So pack your helmet, bike lock, and Bike Easy Membership card and visit these amazing women-owned businesses that support making bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans.

The momentum we gained during this campaign shows that a future where people of all ages and abilities can bike, walk, and take transit safely is within our reach. Thank you again for all your support and for the new members, look out for your membership cards in the mail!
