David Meza, Community Programs Coordinator

David Meza has been a life-long cyclist and rides many miles a day for commuting, recreation, group riding, or hauling a trailer for a moving company. Be it in his hometown of Chicago or while he was studying education in Peoria, Illinois; David has always seen biking as the ideal way to explore a city, fast enough for a commute, slow enough you can still take in the sights around you, and convenient to hop off and go inside any location.

Working with Bike Easy has allowed him to combine many of his greatest passions: community work, education, biking, and of course, the great city of New Orleans. David has been working to promote bike riding in the city through education programs and community engagement efforts and is excited to continue in these and more capacities.

As the Community Programs Coordinator, David works to engage the biking community and engage with community partners to promote biking. David oversees our free Bicycle Valet at festivals throughout the region, the annual Bike Easy April Challenge, our mutual-aid #BikeMatch program, and many other efforts.

David helps in our Education programming and Advocacy efforts, in addition to a part-time job as a bicycle mechanic, allowing him to best serve the biking community in any way needed.
