Smart Biking – Adult Safety Classes

Smart Biking with Bike Easy is a three-session workshop that covers multiple bike safety topics. Classes will take place on April 3rd, 4th, and 6th. Participants must complete sessions 1 & 2 before attending session 3. Upon completion of all three sessions, a Smart Biking certificate will be awarded.

Session 1 – Wednesday, April 3rd – 6:00-8:00pm

Getting to Know Your Bike and Your Rights (in-class/off-bike)

Topics: Choosing a bike, adjusting the bike, maintenance, clothing/gear, rules of the road

Session 2 – Thursday, April 4th – 6:00-8:00pm

Smart Bike Handling (in-class & on-bike)

Topics: handling basics, shifting gears, where to ride, infrastructure, crashes and hazards, night riding, rural riding

Session 3 – Saturday, April 6th – 10am-3pm

Smart Road Riding (outside/on-bike)

Topics: drive train maintenance, riding with a group, sharing paths and trails, inclement weather, night riding, rural riding, flat fixing
