Bike Share Info Session & Site Surveying - Central City / LGD

Learn more about the process for establishing bike share in New Orleans and help with surveying station sites on MLK, Jr. Day

Mon, Jan 16, 2017
9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Courtyard Brewery
1020 Erato St
New Orleans, LA 70130

Bike share is coming to New Orleans! The City of New Orleans has chosen Social Bicycles (SoBi) to establish and operate the bike share system, and they’re getting to work. Bike Easy has been working to ensure that the people of New Orleans can be part of setting up bike share from the beginning, and that opportunity has arrived!

Join Bike Easy and SoBi on Martin Luther King, Jr Day for a Bike Share Info Session to learn more about the details of bike share in New Orleans, the process for getting bikes on the streets by fall 2017, and how you can help. Then, have lunch on us while you get trained before heading out in small teams to survey streets of Central City / LGD for all possible bike share station locations. [Note: an identical event is happening in the Treme on Saturday, January 14th. You are welcome to attend both!]

  • 11am – Noon: Bike Share Info Session
  • Noon – 12:45pm: Lunch and Training for Station Site Survey Volunteers
  • 12:45pm – 5pm (latest): Spend a few hours surveying locations for bike share stations!

Come spend an hour learning about bike share and/or come spend a day riding / walking the beautiful streets of Central City and the Lower Garden District to find all the possible locations for bike share stations! Surveying is fun and easy, we go out in small teams, and you’ll receive all the training and tools you’ll need to truly contribute to the bike share setup process.
