SIGN IN AND FREE BIKE REGISTRATION
Please arrive early! All ride participants must sign-in on the Bike Easy waiver form, and there will be bicycle information, t-shirts, and refreshments available. From 10am-11am, Bike Easy, the Fraternal Order of Police, and New Orleans Police Department will offer free NOPD bicycle registration. The Bicycle Second Line rolls at 11am sharp!
The 13-mile ride starts at Pontchartrain Park Playground, near where Gentilly Fest is held. Registration for the ride starts at 10am and we roll at 11am. The Original Royal Players Brass Band will lead the way! We’ll return to the same spot so all riders can enjoy Gentilly Fest.
GET READY TO RIDE WITH US
Join Bike Easy at our Gentilly Bicycle Second Line, a pedal-powered version of the famous, musical second line parades that wind through New Orleans streets during the year. All you need is a bike!
ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE
As a parade around the city, anyone can participate. Dust off that bike, fill up those tires and be escorted around Gentilly and back to Pontchartrain Park. Afterward, explore the culture and music on display at Gentilly Fest. We hope to see you and your family and friends for this fun ride through Gentilly.
PARADE PACE WITH LIVE MUSIC
The pace is 7-10 mph (which anyone can do) with two stops, one on the UNO Campus and one at Daddy’s Donuts. The Original Royal Players Brass Band will be riding in a trailer while playing classic Second Line tunes to lead the way!
Want to help volunteer leading up to or during the event? Email Dan for details and to be assigned a role. Many volunteers still ride!
This Event is part of Bike Easy’s Bicycle Second Line Project.
