How will the Commute Challenge work?

Register to ride in our weeklong Bike Commute Challenge, gain recognition for your workplace, and be entered to win great prizes – including a bike, NiteRider Bike Lights, gift cards, and more! Sign up via an online form on our website to participate in the Commute Challenge in your workplace, attend the neighborhood ride meetups, or attend one of the evening events.

How will I log my trips during NOLA Bike to Work Week?

Throughout NOLA Bike to Work Week, we will send an email form for you to report whether or not you rode that day. At the end of the week, we will tally numbers for trips taken during the week for both individuals and businesses. Each trip counts as an entry into our pool of incentives, so the more you ride, the greater chance you have to win some great swag!

What is the role of the Workplace Team Captains?

Team Captains will be the in-person encouragement and cheerleader at work and be a critical part of our success. We support our captains with email reminders to all participants, hold informational sessions ahead of the week, provide posters and stickers, and offer free workplace bike safety trainings if requested. Your job is encouraging folks in their workplace to participate in NOLA Bike to Work Week and reminding them to log their trips throughout the week.

Sign up to be a Team Captain in your workplace!

How will the incentives work?

We will have incentives and prizes available to individuals who log their trips throughout the week. Every day you ride counts as another entry into winning some of the great prizes available, including a bike, NiteRider bike lights, gift certificates, and other great bike swag!

How will businesses be recognized?

We will also recognize businesses and Team Captains for their high percentage of workplace participation. We will have multiple categories to ensure recognition for small and large businesses alike:

  • Number of riders overall in workplace
  • Consistency throughout the week
  • Number of new riders who participated in the workplace
