Want to become a certified expert on biking in traffic? Want to become qualified to work for Bike Easy and teach bike safety and maintenance? It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced or new rider, our Smart Biking program is for you.
This summer’s Smart Biking class will take place on Zoom Wednesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 29 from 6:00-7:30 PM, and in-person and on bike Saturday, July 31st from 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Students will learn about choosing a bicycle, basic parts of a bike, essential equipment, as well as how to safely and comfortably ride your bike in various traffic conditions, terrain and climates.
Once you complete all sessions, you’ll receive a Smart Cycling certificate, get a free set of bike lights, and will be qualified to register for the League Cycling Instructor seminar.
There are lots of exciting changes coming to New Orleans’ streets! Join Bike Easy’s certified instructors for this virtual workshop, which will cover the different types of bike infrastructure you’ll see on the streets, as well as how to safely navigate these bikeways whether biking, walking or driving.
We’ll also give some updates on new Complete Streets infrastructure around the city!
Never learned to ride a bike? Our adult learn to ride class is for people over the age of 15 years old who never learned to ride. We will be offering the class Sunday, August 15th from 5:00-7:00 pm.
We teach you the basics of bike riding; balance, pedaling, braking and turning.
At our last class all participants went home having learned to ride!
