A successful event and the end of Membership Month

The Spring Bicycle Second Line rolled through New Orleans from City Park through the 7th Ward, into the Marigny, through the French Quarter and Mid-City, and finished at Second Line Brewing this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day and there were over 400 participants celebrating the joy of biking while building momentum for all Bike Easy’s efforts to improve mobility! Ride-goers enjoyed coffee at Doerr furniture, a quick stretch at Magnolia Yoga Studio, and grooved to the tunes of Egg Yolk Jubilee.

The Bicycle Second Line is an event to get more people on bikes while building support for Bike Easy’s education, advocacy, and community activities. We raised over $3,000 and had 96 new or renewing Bike Easy Members! As we wrap up Membership Month in May, we want to say thank you to all who joined Bike Easy or renewed their Membership during the month of May, on GiveNOLA Day, or during the Bicycle Second Line. You helped us pass our goal of 250 new or renewing Bike Easy Members!

Our Membership base as a whole is what drives Bike Easy to continue to achieve victories for safe streets. Whether it’s our involvement with the city’s Moving New Orleans Bikes community outreach meetings, law enforcement training through our Education team, or hosting the month-long Bike Easy Challenge, Membership support is crucial to making Greater New Orleans an easy, safe, and fun place to ride a bike. If you’re not yet a Member, will you join Bike Easy today?

Bike Easy Memberships can be renewed annually, or you can maximize your impact by making small, automatic monthly donations as a Sustaining Member. If you haven’t already participated in Membership Month, follow the link below to learn more and sign up today!
