SPRING BICYCLE SECOND LINE!
Sunday, May 20th is the Spring Bicycle Second Line! Meet us in City Park for a pedal-powered version of the famous, musical second line parades lead by Egg Yolk Jubilee!
When: Sunday, May 20th. Registration is at 10 am and the ride begins at 11 am.
Where: City Park in front of New Orleans Museum of Art.

BIKEWAY POP-UP DISCUSSION
On Wednesday, May 16th from 2 pm – 3:30 pm Bike Easy will host a bikeway pop-up discussion regarding access to the Lafitte Greenway via St. Louis St. We will meet in the Cabildo Museum 3rd floor meeting room.
This discussion will cover the overall goal and designs for a temporary biking installation connecting the Lafitte Greenway to the French Quarter.

Jefferson Parish is updating their comprehensive plan which presents an opportunity to prioritize street designs that are safe for bikers of all ages and abilities.
Show your support with an “email to a Parish Council Member”:https://act.yourethecure.org/HwTmgLg or call 504-608-3461 to urge them to pass a Complete Streets policy. Find a phone script on our blog.
SIGN THE PETITION TO MAYOR CANTRELL
Take a moment to sign Bike Easy’s petition Mayor LaToya Cantrell to office and asking her to update the Complete Streets policy for New Orleans — for improved safety, increased health equity, higher design standards, and added mobility options for every resident in our city.
COVINGTON COMMUNITY BIKE RIDE
Saturday, May 19th is the Covington Walk & Roll Community Bike Ride!
Join the FREE 3-mile family bike ride from 10 am – 12 pm starting with a mechanics station and safety briefing. The ride will begin and end at Rev Peter Atkins Park.
Our Adult Bike Safety Classes (formerly known as Traffic Safety 101) will take place this June. The class is split up into three sections with participants learning a range of skills from bike maintenance to riding safely. Find June dates and registration information here.

KIDS BIKE DAY
Sunday, June 3rd is Kids Bike Day at the Milne Rec Center! From 10 am – 2 pm children can learn the basics of riding a bike, bike safety, and play games or enjoy a group ride.

SUMMER COMPLETE STREETS AMBASSADORS
Improve biking and walking safety in your neighborhood by becoming a Complete Streets Ambassador.
The Summer ’18 Ambassadorship begins with two-day training in New Orleans, June 9th and 10th. The program is three months, running from June 9th through September 8th.
BIKE/WALK FRIENDLY DRIVER CLASS
Take a one-hour class designed for drivers to learn how to navigate bicycle infrastructure, what to expect from people on bike and people walking, and how to avoid common collisions.
All participants will earn a certificate and window decal certifying their status as a Bike Easy Bike/Walk Friendly Driver. Participants can register here.
