If you’re new to our Bicycle Second Line: this is a FREE family-friendly, leisurely 10 mile ride through the streets of New Orleans. The New Orleans Johnny’s will be playing while you sign your waivers and get a snack or other information, so be sure to show up early to get yourself settled.
After a short announcement about safety and celebrating bikes, Tremé Brass Band will lead us through the streets with the New Orleans Police Department providing a rolling escort for our ride. Bike Law Louisiana and Nola Fixed Cycling will also be providing ride support. The ride typically has 300+ people in attendance, so bring some friends and enjoy the streets of New Orleans while we ride through several neighborhoods.
We’ll have one stop along the ride and then return to The Broadside for a free after-party. Sweet Crude* will be playing on the stage, while we have arts and crafts, our silent auction, and partner organizations tabling inside with tons of information on how you can keep comfortably riding throughout the year!
Register today so you can get all of our latest news on the Bicycle Second Line – including our Ultimate Guide which we will publish early next week. Allow emails to continue to get our emails and receive the Ultimate Guide.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help us on the day of. Nothing too complicated or heavy lifting involved, and volunteers will still be able to ride during the event!
If you’re interested in volunteering with us please fill out the short form below.
And yes! We are bringing back our Silent Auction! Launch date is Tuesday, October 29th – Keep an eye on our socials and on your email to be the first one to access it! Silent Auction will close on Monday, November 3rd at midnight. We’re excited by the items we have prepared for you this year!
Thank you to all of our Sponsors, including the New Orleans Tourism and Culture Fund, Bike Law Louisiana, The Broadside, LCMC Heath, Alex’s Bikes, Bicycle Michaels and Nola Fixed Cycling!
Last, but not least, we’re excited to introduce the Mobility Learning Center at the Broadside Pavilion: A space full of resources like our NEW Post Crash Guide (launching that day) and modeled after the Families for Safer Streets National Post Crash Guide; and representation for the New Orleans Health Department, Department of Public Works, Safe Streets for All, Bike Law Louisiana, and more!
Thank you and see you next weekend!
The Bike Easy Team
* We are asking for a suggested donation of 10.00 for our After Party for folks who don’t register and participate in the bike ride
