Many of the most important decisions about our streets, including where bike lanes go, how safety dollars are spent, where voices are heard; are made behind closed doors. These meetings are often attended by a small number of people, yet the outcomes affect thousands of people who bike, walk and rely on safe streets every day.
Bike Easy shows up in those rooms.
We show up to make sure people on bikes are not forgotten, sidelined, or treated as an afterthought. We show up to advocate for safe designs, equitable investments, and policies that reflect the real needs of our community, and not just the loudest voices at the table. With new leadership, we are presented with new challenges, but we like to think of those as opportunities to foster new partnerships and encourage new champions to step up and help us move our mission to make bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans forward.
It was a financially challenging year for Bike Easy, seeing a big loss on funding and ending the year with a deficit we haven’t seen in years. Nevertheless we refuse to stop showing up for you, and ask you to consider making a donation to help us build the capacity to show up for the community.
At our membership meeting, we asked our supporters where they would like us to focus on this year, and the top 3 picks were:
- Advocacy – Low Stress Network Completion
- Advocacy – Safer St Claude Campaign
- Advocacy – Bike Lane Maintenance
Advocacy takes time, dedication, and capacity, and your support makes that possible:
And on a lighter note – here is our wrap up for 2025. Shoutout to Adam Davies (Board Member) and wife for putting this together for us with UNO Transportation Institute info!

Thank you for riding with us this year and helping ensure that our community’;s voices are heard. Happy New Year!
