As we rebuild New Orleans roadways, implementing bike lanes and on-street bicycle infrastructure is critical for our safety, economic viability and livability in our 21st century city.

We, the undersigned, encourage the City Council and the Mayor to improve bicycling conditions in New Orleans by adhering to the policy objectives below:

• Prioritize street resurfacing projects that will increase our bicycle network connectivity.
• Follow the existing Transportation Master Plan bicycle and pedestrian provisions.
• Institute a “Complete Streets Policy” similar to the state policy recently adopted.
• Create a Pedestrian/Bicycle Advisory Committee to give public input to decision-making.
