Registration has started for the 6th Annual Tour de Jefferson. The Tour de Jefferson has become one of the premier cycling events in the region. Organizers are preparing for 1,000 participants to arrive Sunday, November 4 at Bayou Segnette State Park. The bike ride consists of three routes; 25 and 35 miles for leisure riders and 50 miles for more seasoned riders.
All routes offer riders a scenic bike tour though two parks, Bayou Segnette State Park and Jean Lafitte National Park. Riders will bike on paths through southern Jefferson along the Mississippi River Trail past bayous and moss covered oaks. There will be scenic rest stops along the way equipped with plenty of energizing snacks and drinks. The ride will finish at the Bayou Segnette State Park Wave Pool where riders will enjoy good food and music for the Fin du Tour after party.
The band, Neutral Snap, will take the stage at 10:45 a.m. followed by Refuguze from 11:45 – 1:45.
Check-in time begins at 7:30 a.m. at Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego. The bike ride starts at 8:30 a.m. and riders must finish by 1:30 p.m. Registration costs are $35 per adult and $20 for 17 and under on the day of the race.
