Moving New Orleans: Bikes Planning Open House
Wednesday, April 17 – District E – Martin Luther King Library (1611 Caffin Ave.)
6pm – 7:30pm

The City of New Orleans is hosting a series of public meetings to announce Moving New Orleans: Bikes an initiative to plan and rapidly expand the citywide bikeway network.

Bike Easy is excited to ensure a strong community voice in the New Orleans bikeway planning process! Your voice is crucial to creating a strong collective vision for increasing safe and equitable transportation options. The open house style meetings will be fun and interactive as participants collectively identify mobility challenges, desired destinations, and potential routes.

As part of a larger strategy called Moving New Orleans to improve safety, connectivity, equity, and efficiency across all modes of transportation, the City is leading with Moving New Orleans: Bikes. This planning process is the first step towards rapidly building connected and protected bikeways, and your voice is crucial to ensuring a bikeway network that works for all the people of New Orleans.

The first round of public meetings begins the second week of April and the City is asking everyone to help identify specific areas with transportation challenges, desired biking and walking destinations, and potential bike routes.

These are open house style meetings from 6pm to 7:30pm. You can drop in for as long or as little as you like, and we recommend giving it at least 30 minutes. Each City Council district will host at least one meeting, but feel free to come to any.
