League Cycling Instructor Training Seminar
Certification training for future Bike Easy Instructors
22–24 Sep 2017
2100 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd
The prerequisite is taking and passing the Traffic Skills 101 course.
League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) are certified to teach the Smart Cycling classes to children as well as adults. Their goal is to help people feel more secure about getting on a bike, to create a mindset that bikes are treated as a vehicle, and to ensure that people on bikes know how to ride safely and legally. LCIs are members of the League of American Bicyclists and have completed an intense 3-day seminar training. LCIs are also eligible to lead safety instruction during Bike Easy events as Bike Easy Instructors.
The seminar is an in-depth instructor training in bicycle safety which includes group riding practice, traffic safety training, as well as educational materials for future instruction. These trainings are typically offered at cost to individuals but Bike Easy is able to offer this opportunity to the public with generous support and funding from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
