Bike Valet at Shotgun Cinema Screening

Urban South Brewery, 1645 Tchoupitoulas

This must be the place: Shotgun Cinema is bringing back the no-chairs, all-dancing screening of Jonathan Demme’s seminal 1984 concert documentary, Stop Making Sense. This electric film captures the brilliance of the Talking Heads, taking you into the audience at one of their inimitable shows. Sing along with David Byrne, prance like Tina Weymouth, and toast the late (and immeasurably great) Bernie Worrell at the Urban South Brewery. Bring your friends, bring your kids, bring you best Big Suit.
David Byrne is an outspoken bicycle advocate, and we are excited to encourage more folks to ride bikes to this screening by providing free Bike Valet!
Admission includes the film screening and one Urban South beverage (fresh squeezed lemonade is the delicious non-boozy option), as well as bike valet provided by Bike Easy, goldsprints bike racing, and dancing to one of the best bands of all-time.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the film starting at 9:00 PM. Food from Mr. Choo’s food truck will be available, and drinks served by the rad folks at Urban South. Online tickets are now available and will close by noon on Friday, November 18. The last screening of Stop Making Sense sold out, so we recommend buying tickets in advance.
