Welcoming Manny Ogana to Bike Easy

Posted by Heather Haylett on August 2, 2019 in Advocacy

Bike Easy has a new Campaign Organizer.

Bike Easy is proud to announce that Manny Ogana has joined our team as Campaign Organizer! We are excited to have Manny engage with the community and bring his organizing experience to Bike Easy.

Manny has been apart of communities throughout the region as a graduate of Warren Easton High School and completing his undergrad at Louisiana State University. At LSU, Manny went without a car and was introduced to multi-modal transportation sparking his interest in how transportation affects everyday people. He speaks to how he “wants everyone to have the same opportunities to achieve their best and the greatest opportunity to do that is the ability to get from point A to point B which has propelled me to join Bike Easy”.

As Campaign Organizer, Manny will build public support for strong Complete Streets policies that promote health equity in Greater New Orleans, alongside our partners in the New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition. He will use his skills for grassroots organizing, volunteer recruitment, and coalition communications.

Manny has experience with organizing victories from his time with Students for Education Reform, and their work to extend the TOPS scholarship program. Everyone at Bike Easy is looking forward to working with Manny to make bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans!

In his free time, Manny enjoys running, spending time with friends and working on his non-fiction script! Please welcome Manny as you will see him at community outreach events engaging community members and talking about how to advocate for streets built to share.
