Come see the City’s vision for low-stress biking
Get a sneak peek!
Tomorrow, come get a sneak peak at the City’s vision for a safe, accessible bikeway network for New Orleans! Click here to let us know if can join us tomorrow at the Algiers Regional Library, or next week in New Orleans East or downtown at the Main Library.
At Bike Easy we’re excited for what a well-designed bikeway network will mean for our city’s health, safety, and quality of life when every resident has more affordable ways to get around their community, whether that means a trip to a park, the grocery store, to school or to work.
Mayor Cantrell’s initiative, Moving New Orleans Bikes moves New Orleans in this direction and the proposed bikeway network released tomorrow represents a great deal of work and outreach by folks at City Hall. Come show your support for the Mayor and her team’s commitment to moving New Orleans forward.
Come out to learn the City’s approach to equitably expanding biking access, to provide invaluable feedback, and to celebrate a future with better biking in every neighborhood. RSVP to let us know you’ll be there!
- Algiers Regional Library – Wednesday, July 31st, 6-730pm
- New Orleans East Regional Library – Monday, August 5th, 6-730pm
- New Orleans Public Library, Main Branch – August 8th, 6-730pm
Better biking and mobility options are especially needed in Algiers. Neighborhoods in Algiers are often separated by canals and fast-moving 4 or even 6 lane roadways making it difficult to walk or bike across, especially for children, seniors, and residents with disabilities. With protected bikeways, additional crosswalks, and improved signalization Algiers, New Orleans East, and other neighborhoods with transportation challenges will become more accessible for everyone while creating better conditions for local businesses.
It’s not just about biking. It’s about all of us moving more freely and safely in our daily lives. Please join us in looking forward to big changes for biking and mobility across New Orleans in the months ahead.
