More Bike Safety Education
Bike Easy Members help increase bike safety education in Greater New Orleans.
Bike Easy works to make bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans, and education is a crucial component of realizing this work. As #GivingTuesday approaches, we’re kicking off our end-of-year Membership Drive to raise $5,000 by Dec 31 to support important Bike Easy programming, like our bike safety education.
The Bike Easy education team works with people of all ages and abilities throughout Greater New Orleans teaching them how to prioritize safety whether they’re walking, on bike, or in a motor vehicle.
In 2018, Bike Easy was proud to conduct our first ever Bike/Walk Friendly Driver workshop. These workshops are given to both civilian drivers through partners like AARP and professional drivers such as school bus drivers, and rideshare drivers. The importance of sharing the road, what to expect from people biking, safety laws for people biking, walking, and driving, and navigating bike infrastructure as a driver are all highlighted topics. Drivers leave the class with a robust understanding of their part in making sure our streets are safe for people walking, on bike, and in motor vehicles.
As a member of Bike Easy, you receive discounts with Bike Easy Business Members around town and are kept updated through our newsletter and special announcements. You’re also encouraged to cast your vote at the Annual Membership Meeting in December and get involved to help guide the direction of the organization for the work to be done in the years ahead.
Joining Bike Easy as a Member is a powerful tool to show that you believe in an equitable and safe mobility in Greater New Orleans. Members provide Bike Easy the financial and political support needed to continue our education, advocacy, and community event programs. Can you help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 in membership gifts before the end of the year?
