BECOME A COMPLETE STREETS AMBASSADOR!
Bike Easy is seeking residents to train and support as ‘Complete Streets Ambassadors’, who will work to promote walking, biking, transit, and livable streets in their neighborhoods.
The Summer ’18 Ambassadorship begins with a two-day training in New Orleans, June 23rd and 24th. Ambassadors commit to partnering with Bike Easy for three months from June 23 through September 23.

GENTILLY CROSSINGS INFO SESSION
On Saturday, June 16th from 11 am – 12 pm Bike Easy will host an info session about the Gentilly Crossings project to gather input and discuss how neighbors can get involved in creating safer, healthier and more resilient streets in Gentilly. We will meet at the Dillard Community Resource Center.

NEW ORLEANS EAST LIBRARY WORKSHOP
There will be a free bike repair and safety workshop Wednesday, June 20th from 6 pm – 8 pm at the New Orleans East Regional Library. Bike Easy instructors will share safety information and answer your questions about repairs, equipment, and rules of the road. Find more details here.
BIKE VALET AT LOUISIANA CAJUN ZYDECO FESTIVAL
June 23rd and 24th is the 12th annual Lousiana Cajun Zydeco Festival, New Orleans’ only festival that features exclusively Cajun and zydeco music. The festival takes place in Armstrong Park and admission is free. Leave your bike at the free Bike Easy Bike Valet corral. We will be located at the arch of Armstrong Park.
Our Smart Biking (formerly known as Traffic Safety 101) adult safety classes will take place this June. The class is split up into three sections with participants learning a range of skills from bike maintenance to riding safely. Find June dates and registration information here.
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: LOUISIANA PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTE
The Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) champions health for people, within systems, and throughout communities. LPHI sponsored the 2018 Spring Bicycle Second Line and supports healthy and active communities with access to bicycling.
KIDS BIKE DAY RECAP
Sunday, June 3rd Bike Easy, in partnership with Blue Bikes and the New Orleans Health Department, celebrated Kids Bike Day – an event dedicated to celebrating kids riding bikes safely. Check out our blog with photos from the event.

The Caffin Ave. Seventh Day Adventist Church has been rolling out a bike lending program for neighbors in the Lower 9th Ward. To promote the lending program, church members led a neighborhood social ride on Sunday, June 3rd with a 4-mile ride through the Lower 9th Ward and Holy Cross neighborhoods.
