BIKE TO WORK DAY
Wednesday, April 11th is Bike to Work Day! Ride with your neighborhood bike train and meet us in Duncan Plaza from 7:30 am – 9 am for breakfast. The event is free and all are welcome, whether arriving with a bike train or on your own. Find your neighborhood bike train on the Bike Easy Online Map. Can’t join us in the CBD or a ride train, but will ride to work? Post your commute picture on Facebook or Instagram and tag us @bikeeasy #GNOBiketoWorkDay

From now until April 30, every time you ride your bike for more than 10 minutes make sure to record your trip at http://www.lovetoride.net/bikeeasy. By riding anytime anywhere, encouraging others to ride, and completing other fun bike-related activities, you’ll earn points and be eligible to win some great prizes. Need more motivation to ride? KENNER POP-UP PROTECTED BIKEWAY
Bike Easy, Complete Streets Ambassadors, volunteers, and the City of Kenner installed a pop-up protected bikeway Saturday, March 24th. The bike lanes span six blocks along Loyola Drive going both lake-bound and river-bound between West Esplanade and East / West Loyola. A 3-foot buffer protects the bike lane using barricades and cones as a physical separation between traffic and bikers. Read more about the pop-up on our blog. BIKE VALET VOLUNTEERS FOR FRENCH QUARTER FEST
Help us encourage people to ride their bikes to French Quarter Festival! Bike Valet is a free service that operates like a coat check for bikes. Friday through Sunday, Bicycle Valet corrals will be located on Canal Street near the Audubon Aquarium and Esplanade Ave neutral ground next to the Old U.S. Mint (400 block).
GET UP N RIDE COMMUNITY BIKE FEST
Saturday, April 21st is the 2nd annual Get Up N Ride Community Bike Fest! Join the fun for local artists, food vendors, bicycle competitions, and a group ride. This family-friendly event will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Bayou Road between Broad St. and N. Dorgenois.
SPRING BICYCLE SECOND LINE
Bicycle Second LineJoin us Sunday, May 20th for the 2018 Spring Bicycle Second Line! This is a musical 10-mile bike ride version of the famous second line parades that traditionally wind through New Orleans streets during the year. For our Bicycle Second Line, we gather several hundred riders of all ages, interests, and backgrounds and roll through our beautiful New Orleans neighborhoods while brass bands set the tempo. The Bicycle Second Line will start at 10 am at City Park Dreyfous Meadows (in front of NOMA) and end with an after party at Second Line Brewing.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: BIKE LAW LOUISIANA
Charlie Thomas is a Louisiana bicycle accident attorney who supports the unique mission of Bike Law USA. Charlie represents people on bike all over Louisiana who have been injured by motorists, unsafe road conditions, or defective cycling products. He actively advocates for safe roadways and mutual respect between people driving and people on bikes. Charlie served on the Board of Directors for Bike Easy and Bike Law Louisiana is a sponsor of the Bike Easy Challenge.
