GiveNOLA and Bicycle Second Line
May Is Membership Month - Help Fund More Victories for Biking in New Orleans
I’ve only been on the job a few weeks, but I can tell you that Bike Easy is a great place to put your GiveNOLA Day dollars in order to positively impact our city. As I’ve been learning my way around the organization, I’m so very impressed with past victories and the work being done, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join you in working to make bicycling in Greater New Orleans even safer, easier, and more fun.
Please join in the GiveNOLA Day fun by donating to Bike Easy today! Then come ride with us at the Bicycle Second Line on May 17th.
I feel truly honored to have the opportunity to lead an organization that is riding on so many recent victories and accomplishments, and I know just how important our members are to Bike Easy’s success. The support of our members has recently helped Bike Easy:
- secure the first bike lane through the CBD, on Baronne St,
- teach thousands of 4th and 5th graders the basics of safe bicycling, and
- organize the successful, first-ever New Orleans Bike to Work Week.
Help secure more victories for better bicycling by joining or renewing as a Bike Easy member today as part of GiveNOLA Day! By donating on GiveNOLA Day, you’ll also be augmenting your gift with “lagniappe” funds that are part of the event. You can also help build a stronger bicycling community by inviting your friends and family to join Bike Easy today as well – please share the Bike Easy GiveNOLA Day info on Facebook and twitter.
You can pitch in as little as $10 to help fund the cause, and we ask you to consider joining at membership levels or above to increase our political and financial muscle:
- $20 Student Membership
- $35 Individual Membership
- $60 Couple Membership
- $125 Household Membership
- $150 Business Membership
All members will be eligible to pick up a free t-shirt at the Bicycle Second Line on May 17th! The Bicycle Second Line, an unforgettable experience riding with hundreds of friends to the sounds of a live brass band, departs this year from City Park on the lawn in front of the sculpture garden and NOMA. On Sunday, May 17th, registration begins at 9am and the ride leaves at 10am. The ride is free for everyone, and we’ll be encouraging all those who can to join as members . . . but you’ll already have that taken care of by giving as part of GiveNOLA Day!
I’m really excited to meet you! Along with our officemates at RIDE New Orleans, we’re hosting a small office party to celebrate GiveNOLA Day and kickoff May Membership Month. Please drop by our office at 2100 OC Haley Blvd to say “Hi!” today, May 5, from 5 to 7pm. We’ll have some light snacks and refreshments, and plenty of great company with fellow Bike Easy and RIDE members and staff on hand to talk active and accessible transportation.
Thanks so much! I can’t wait to work with you on getting New Orleans streets in gear.
