Policy and Design Committee

Get involved with shaping New Orleans’ biking future

The Bike Easy Policy and Design Committee, comprised of volunteer community members, helps to create policy positions, street design recommendations, and vision for a bike network.

The committee meets monthly (regular day and time TBD) to discuss an agenda of current, ongoing, and proposed bike- and walk-related policies and street designs to develop and make recommendations to Bike Easy staff and Board of Directors. The committee recommends policy positions, including written white papers, letters, fact sheets, and/or statements backed by supporting evidence. Street design recommendations include detailed design mockups and recommendations for state and local government, with a larger goal of developing a detailed vision for a connected network of bikeways in Greater New Orleans.

The public is welcome to participate in all Policy and Planning Committee meetings, and occasional “Policy Forums” will also be held to specifically solicit feedback from the broader community. Garnering community input and expertise through this committee will enable Bike Easy to better execute our mission of making bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans.
