Vivek has been an avid cyclist for 20 years, ever since his seven-year-old self realized that a bike is a great way to get around with out having to depend on your parents. The experience of learning to bike on suburban roads outside NYC instilled in him the desire to make streets safe for everyone. He is currently finishing his Masters in urban and regional planning at the University of New Orleans. Vivek also works for the Division of Planning at UNO as a graduate research assistant.
