After nearly two years as a Bike Safety Instructor, Laura stepped up in to the role of Education Coordinator in 2019, and she is now running all aspects of Bike Easy’s education work, including organizing and teaching workshops, managing contracted League Cycling Instructors, to providing safety and education communications support.
She is excited to work with Bike Easy to pursue her lifelong passion for promoting bicycling as a healthy, fun and sustainable mode of transportation. Her role gives her the opportunity to encourage other cyclists to feel safe and confident on the roadways. In addition to her work with Bike Easy, she works as a pedicab driver, wetlands teacher, activist, photographer, and volunteer at the R.U.B.A.R.B. Community Bike Shop.
Laura has been riding her bike on the streets of New Orleans for more than a decade. She is a graduate of Tulane University, where she worked as the first intern for the Metro Bicycle Coalition (now Bike Easy!), and studied Sociology, International Development, Architecture, Environmental Studies and Urban Studies.
