Communications Coordinator

Katie Hunter-Lowrey

Katie is excited to use her skills and expertise to further the work of Bike Easy. She brings to the organization over a decade of organizing and communications experience, plus a lifelong love of bicycles. From alleycat races to bike tours to group rides geared toward women and queer riders, she incorporates her love of riding into her community organizing. Katie is also a part of the collective Nola to Angola, an annual 170-mile bicycle ride fundraiser that raises money for folks to visit their incarcerated loved ones across the state of Louisiana.

She last served as Director of Communications for City Councilmember Jason Williams and still serves on the board of Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative, a community land trust in Mid-City.  She is a founder of New Orleans Ladies Arm Wrestling, a women focused fundraising and performance collective. As Communications Coordinator, Katie strives to broaden the reach of Bike Easy and strengthen the New Orleans cycling environment to make it a more accessible, safe, and fun place for all.
