Dan joined Bike Easy’s Board in 2008, but has been actively involved in the bicycle community since his time as a Tulane undergraduate. Since 2007, he has been the Pedestrian and Bicycle Program Manager for the Regional Planning Commission, focusing on education, enforcement and technical assistance to member parishes and municipalities to promote and improve walking and bicycling in the region. Dan has been recognized by the American Planning Association Louisiana Chapter for his work in public education, as the Young Professional of the Year by the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, and as a New Orleans Forty Under Forty by Gambit Weekly.
Dan has been involved with the creation of Complete Streets polices for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission and communities across the New Orleans region. Dan’s been cycling since he was old enough to ditch the training wheels, and rides just about anywhere in New Orleans. Dan is a founding member of the “Where Ya Rack” bicycle parking project at the Young Leadership Council, represents Louisiana on the board of the Mississippi River Trail and has served 3 terms on the board of Bike Easy, including as Board Treasurer and President.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Dan moved to New Orleans in 2001 to attend Tulane University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Management in 2005.
