Charlie is excited to further Bike Easy’s mission of bettering bicycling in New Orleans through increased education, enforcement, and infrastructure for all road users. Growing up in New Orleans, Charlie enjoyed the thrill of racing bicycles and working in a local bike shop from adolescence until law school. While in college, Charlie served as President of the Texas A&M Cycling Team and raced in the USA Cycling Professional/1/2 classification. Now, Charlie is a Certified Instructor with the League of American Bicyclists and serves as Vice President of the board of Bike Easy.
As an attorney, Charlie is the Louisiana delegate for Bike Law USA and serves in a leadership role in the Bicycle Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. He focuses his practice on representing bicyclists and advocating for safer roadways, both inside and outside of the courtroom. Charlie regularly lectures on the application of bicycle laws and now rides for recreation as well as transportation. As Vice President at Bike Easy, Charlie leads the Development Committee and is very active in advocacy and education efforts.
Charlie holds a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and a J.D./B.C.L. from LSU. He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Washington D.C. Finally, Charlie lives in Uptown New Orleans with his wife, two young daughters, two dogs, and too many bicycles.
