Barrie, a Program Manager with the Healthy Communities Team at the Louisiana Public Health Institute, supports the advancement of health equity by partnering across sectors to address social, environmental, and economic factors that impact population health. Prior, she led several projects throughout Gulf Coast communities to expand access to integrated high quality, community-based primary care. Barrie obtained a M.P.H. from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a B.A. in Psychology and Business from Providence College in Rhode Island.
While a proud native of Lafayette, Barrie has called New Orleans home for a decade. She relied on her bicycle for transportation and exploring the city when gas prices were at their highest. Now you may catch her commuting to work through the French Quarter or navigating festivals on that same bicycle. She believes the fresh air, movement, and convenience of biking and walking are experience everyone should have the opportunity to rely on to get where they need to go safely.
